John Palmer Leeper Correspondence, 1951-1952

John Palmer Leeper (b.1921) served as the director of the Marion Koogler McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas (1954-90). Blanche Magurn Leeper (b.1911) was assistant curator of Oriental Art at the William Hayes Fogg Art Museum at Harvard, assistant to the director of the Pasadena Art Museum (1950-53), and a librarian at the Marion Koogler McNay Art Museum (1954- ). The collection consists of 147 letters and post cards written by Blanche and John P. Leeper describing their activities at the Pasadena Art Institute (now Pasadena Art Museum) and in Southern California art circles generally.
